EY Connect Day Comes to YWLA
The Young Women's Leadership Academy (YWLA) welcomed a unique opportunity for growth and learning as part of EY Connect Day. This special event brought together EY professionals and YWLA students for a day of impactful workshops and mentorship.
Topics covered during the event included:
Executive Presence and Building Your Personal Brand: Students learned how to present themselves confidently and authentically in professional settings.
Financial Literacy and Understanding Budgeting: Essential skills for managing personal finances and making informed financial decisions were shared.
Professionalism in Electronic Communications and Social Media: Guidance on maintaining professionalism and a positive digital footprint was provided.
Students from 6th to 10th grade, as well as 12th graders, participated enthusiastically, gaining valuable insights and skills that will serve them well in their academic and professional futures.
According to EY, “EY Connect Days are our quarterly days of service, when all EY people in the Americas can volunteer together to support EY Ripples, our global corporate responsibility program.” This initiative underscores EY's commitment to making a positive impact in the communities they serve.
The day was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on the young women of YWLA and reinforcing the importance of community engagement and corporate responsibility. We are grateful to Amy Grubbs, Executive Director at Ernst & Young, who serves as Treasurer of the YWLA Foundation and member of the YWLA Advisory Board and the EY San Antonio team for their dedication and support in empowering the next generation of leaders.
