YWLA Partners with Generous Life for an Evening of Community and Conversation
On a beautiful spring evening in San Antonio, the Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation partnered with Generous.Life to host an unforgettable educational panel at the charming Ivy Hall. The event brought together educators, civic leaders, and community members for an evening of connection, inspiration, and meaningful dialogue.
Guests were welcomed with a warm atmosphere, delicious bites, and drinks as they mingled and connected with fellow supporters of education and leadership. The evening officially opened with a thoughtful introduction that set the tone for what would be a powerful night of storytelling and shared vision.
The program began with a fireside chat with current YWLA students with Advsiory Board member and event organizer Katie Wadsworth. Their stories of resilience, ambition, and growth offered a firsthand look at the impact of the school’s mission. Following this, attendees were invited to engage in a community prompt—turning to the person next to them to share reflections, sparking intimate and heartfelt conversations throughout the room.
The main panel discussion featured a powerhouse lineup: Delia Montelongo, Head of Schools at YWLA; Councilmember Sukh Kaur of District 1; and Betty Burks, former Associate Superintendent of SAISD. Moderated by Logan Gentry of Generous.Life, the conversation explored the intersections of education, civic leadership, and the transformative power of generosity. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, grounded in experience and driven by a shared commitment to empowering young women.
The evening concluded with a lively Q&A session, followed by a closing reception where guests continued their conversations, exchanged ideas, and left feeling inspired to take action in their own communities.
This event was more than a panel—it was a celebration of purpose, partnership, and the belief that when we invest in young women, we invest in a brighter future for all.
